Largo, MD. - On May 14, 2015, the Owls Athletic Department held its Official Letter of Intent signing day. The signing day did not disappoint, with many area athletes committing to playing collegiate sports. Some of the top recruits in the 2015 class made their commitments to represent the institution, along with some not-so-surprising ones, but it was always interesting to see the turnout.
Women’s basketball had 7 signings on the day and Coach Harris believes this group has the potential to take the program back to Nationals in 2016, with hopes of winning it. She was pleased to have attracted top talent from various high schools in Maryland such as Rashanda Chandler - Westlake, Ivie Foster - Laurel, Shaela Lewis - Central, Bre’Launa Patterson - Crossland, and Aquilah Simpkins - Bladensburg, Justine Shepperson and Estariah Slatten - DuVal. In addition, the program is also happy to announce the signing of Tabatha Johnson from Parkdale and Lisa Seifert from North Western. Both players had made their verbal commitments earlier but made it official by signing to the program a few days after the event.
Men’s soccer was able to ink 4 top players from the county, having already inked 5 others earlier in the year. Alazar Assres, Angelo Rigero, Ulrich Ndip all from High Point, Davion Alcock - Central and Philip Adu from Bladensburg were the first to commit to the program for the 2016 season. On the signing day, the program locked in Kelly Marah and Daniel Feddy - Laurel, Stennett Samms - Charles H. Flowers and Abdel Walid Yacoubou formerly of High Point.
