LARGO, Md. – Prince George's Community College men's soccer had six different players find the back of the net to lead the Owls past Allegany College of Maryland 6-0 on Tuesday.
Habib Rahmin (Riverdale, Md./Diocesan), Ben Montague (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson), Hector Ortiz (Hyattsville, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt), Francisco Canton (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern), Guillaume Nseke (Largo, Md./Largo) and Atabong Atama (Greenbelt, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) each twinkled the twine in the win.
Rahmin and Montague got the scoring started with back-to-back goals in the final minute of the first half. Rahmin scored the first goal of the night at the 44-minute mark before Montague increased the lead to 2-0 with his 10th marker of the season 19 seconds later.
Ortiz notched a tally off a feeder from Nseke for the first of four goals in the final frame at the 50:13 mark for a three-goal lead. After Canton found the twine off a Chris Garcia (Fort Washington, Md./Friendly) assist at the 53:35 mark, Ortiz returned the favor to Nseke at the 54:42 to cap a scoring run of three goals in four minutes and 29 seconds. Atama then sealed the win with an unassisted tally at 86:13.
Angel Olmedo (Hyattsville, Md./High Point) made one save in his second career shutout and victory.
Montague leads the team with 10 tallies and three assists for 23 points and has scored a goal in seven matches this season.
Nseke now has four markers and three helpers for 11 points and Garcia boasts three goals and three assists for nine points. Canton has three goals and two assists for eight points while Atama and Ortiz each have two tallies and a helper for five points. Rahmin has two goals for four points this season.
Prince George's returns to action on Friday in the final regular season game against Montgomery College. Match time is 6 p.m.
