Prince George's Track And Field Announces 2018 Schedule
LARGO, Md. – Prince George's Community College track and field head coach Richard Johnson has announced his 2018 Outdoor Track And Field schedule. The Owls schedule is highlighted by a local meet at the University of Maryland and the prestigious Penn Relays.
Prince George's was scheduled to open the season on Saturday at the Goucher Track And Field Classic in Baltimore, Md., but that event was canceled on Friday due to track conditions at Goucher.
The Owls will now open the season when they travel to the Keystone State for two meets. The squad is set to participate at the Millersville Metrics in Millersville, Pa., on Apr. 7 and then heads to the Chester Quarry Classic hosted by West Chester in Chester, Pa., on Apr. 14.
After a trip south to the Virginia State University Trojan Invitational in Ettrick, Va., on Apr. 21, the Largo team will participate in the historic Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa., on Apr. 27-28.
Prince George's returns to the state of Maryland for the Kehoe Twilight Meet at the University of Maryland on May 4.
The Owls will then make the trek to Mohawk Valley Community College for the NJCAA Division III National Championships in Utica, N.Y., on May 10-12. Last year Prince George's had two second-place finishes and three third-place standings at the national event.
