The Prince George's Community College men's soccer team opened the 2025 season on Tuesday, travelling to Keyser, West Virginia where they took on WVU Potomac State's Catamounts. The Owls came up short as they lost 1-5 in the divisional matchup.
Potomac State struck early, connecting on a penalty kick in just the 5th minute before the Owls surrendered another goal in the 17th to find themselves down 2-0. Sophomore Abdulsalam Osman scored the lone goal for Prince George's on the day with a penalty kick in the 29th. The Catamounts tacked on another in the first half to send the Owls into halftime down 3-1. Despite creating six corner kick opportunities in the second half, the Owls were unable to hit the target on five shots while Potomac State added two more goals before the final whistle to give the Owls a 1-5 defeat.
Coach Akinmboni and his Owls will look to make adjustments quickly as they turnaround for a 6:30 PM match in Bel Air, Maryland against Division I opponent Harford Community College on Thursday, August 28th.
