The Prince George's Community College men's soccer team closed out the 2025 regular season in dramatic fashion, earning a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Frederick Community College on the road Tuesday afternoon. The win, powered by two late goals from freshman Kahlid Weathersby, helped the Owls secure the #4 seed in the upcoming NJCAA Region 20 Division II Tournament.
After being held scoreless and trailing for over 70 minutes, the Owls showed their resilience in the final stretch. In the 75th minute, Weathersby found the back of the net for the equalizer, tying the game at 1-1 and shifting momentum to the Owls.
Just ten minutes later, Weathersby struck again – this time finishing off the assist from sophomore Abdulsalam Osman to put Prince George's ahead for good and complete the comeback.
The Owls finish the regular season with a 6-8-1 overall record, and more importantly, a 6-4-1 mark in Region 20 Division II play, clinching a top-four finish and the right to host a first-round playoff game.
Prince George's will now turn its attention to the Region 20 DII Tournament, where they will host #5 seed Anne Arundel Community College on Saturday, October 25th at 11 AM. The matchup comes just one week after the Owls defeated Anne Arundel 3-1 on October 18th in another late comeback win that featured three second-half goals for Prince George's.
