Prince George’s Community College Announces Orlando Williams as Head Track & Field Coach
Prince George's Community College Athletics Director William West Jr. is excited to announce the hiring of Orlando Williams as the new Head Men's & Women's Track & Field Coach. Coach Williams most recently served at the head track & field coach at Riverdale Baptist School, where he enjoyed a highly successful 15-year tenure.
"Coach Williams embodies the values we prioritize at PGCC – integrity, discipline, and a commitment to student-athlete success both on and off the track. We are confident that he will make an immediate and lasting impact on our programs," said Director West. "He brings a proven dedication to student-athlete development, competitive excellence, and program building that aligns with our vision for the future of PGCC Athletics."
During his time at Riverdale Baptist, he established a culture centered on discipline, family, and competitive excellence, helping numerous student athletes advance to collegiate programs across the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels, as well as NJCAA and NAIA ranks.
A graduate of East Stroudsburg University, Coach Williams earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997 and later completed a Master's Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University in 2004. While attending East Stroudsburg, he was involved in campus leadership and was also a member of the university's football team. The Warriors leading rusher and team captain in 1994, East Stroudsburg competed in the NCAA DII Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
After his playing days, he was inspired to begin coaching track & field after seeing his daughter excel in the sport within local clubs. Williams began as an assistant at Riverdale Baptist in 2010 before being promoted to head coach in 2011.
Prince George's Community College Athletics welcomes Coach Williams and looks forward to the future of the program under his leadership. Students interested in learning more can contact coach Williams via email at williaol@pgcc.edu.
