Prince George's men's basketball led a late comeback in the second half of their matchup Wednesday night, November 20th against NJCAA Division II opponent Frederick Community College to stun the Cougars by a final score of 91-88. The Owls visited Frederick, Maryland for the first Maryland JUCO contest of the season for either squad.
The Owls (5-1, 1-0) found themselves trailing by 17 with fifteen minutes remaining in the game when they went on a massive 26-9 run over the next nine and a half minutes of action to tie the Cougars (3-1, 0-1) at 76. Frederick then took another lead when they went up by 5 to bring the score to 84-79. The Owls responded by outscoring the Cougars 12-4 over the final minutes to steal a 91-88 victory over the Maryland JUCO rival.
The number 8 ranked Prince George's program returns home Saturday, November 23rd when they take on Cecil College in another Maryland JUCO contest in the Owls home opener. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 pm.
