Owls Rally Past Rockland to Close Season with Gritty Win

The Prince George's Community College men's basketball team capped off its 2025-26 campaign with a hard fought 81-78 victory over No.19 seed Rockland Community College in the consolation round on Wednesday, March 18th.

After falling short in their survive-and-advance opener on Monday, the Owls embraced one final opportunity to leave their mark on the national stage - and did so in a fashion that had become familiar throughout the season.

Prince George's once again proved its resilience as a second-half team. Trailing by eight points at halftime (37-29), the Owls mounted a second half comeback for the ninth time this year when trailing at the break, showing their fight that defined their season.

Sophomore Brazil Hutchinson led the charge with 16 points, closing out his lone season in Largo. After earning a spot in the starting lineup late in the year, Hutchinson continued his strong second-half surge with clutch shots and strong defensive presence.

Just behind was sophomore Willie Rivera Jr., who poured in 15 points in his final game for the Owls. Rivera leaves the program with 844 career points in his two years.

Sophomore transfers Paul Vance III and Dyan Carter each contributed 10 points, with Carter adding four blocks to put the exclamation point on a season played above the rim.

Wednesday also marked the final appearance in an Owls uniform for two-year players Tyler Donald and Lynn King III, as well as Kadon Fossett and Steve Donfack who will be moving on. Meanwhile, five freshman gained invaluable experience on a championship team who have the chance to return in 2026-27.

Head Coach Terrell Harris concludes his fourth season at the helm with an 86-32 overall record, good for a 72.8% winning percentage, two MD JUCO Conference titles, and three National Tournament appearances. As the offseason begins, Harris and his staff will look to reload and position the Owls for another championship push.
